The process

During your first visit, Dr. Sylvie Legault Chiropractor performs an assessment of your health. X-rays are often recommended in order to establish a clear and precise diagnosis. She then analyzes your results and addresses your health protocol during your second appointment.

Chiropractic Adjustment

Also called manipulation, chiropractic adjustment is a type of manual therapy that is very measured and precise. It is tailored to the needs of each patient and aims to mobilize a vertebra in a specific direction in order to correct subluxation. This reduces tension on the nervous system while introducing the body to healthier functioning.

Your program of care

Your program of care is designed in three phases. The length of each phase and the frequency of adjustments depends on the health status of your spine and nervous system.

Step one – Pain relief

During this period, the frequency of your adjustments is greater. Your chiropractor will strive to increase your spine and nervous system function towards higher levels. A person’s response to adjustments in this phase may vary significantly.

At the onset of care, certain people may experience a sense of greater well-being, while others may have symptoms increase or previous symptoms reappear. Whatever the case may be, share your experiences with your chiropractor.

Corrective phase

During this phase, the frequency of your adjustments may be reduced. Your chiropractor’s goal will be to stabilize your spine and nervous system allowing your body to function at a more normal level.

Comfort and wellness

During this phase your will be guided to fully understand and experience the chiropractic health lifestyle. This will help you take charge of your health and live to the best of your ability. Regular chiropractic adjustments will help maintain your spinal and nervous system health, helping you to fully recover, and live up to your true health potential.
